Copper & Aluminium Craft Blanks Size Guide

Compare our copper and aluminium craft blanks by shape and size. This guide includes both plain blanks and our pre-drilled pendant blanks. Click any available size to view the corresponding pack.

Copper or Aluminium?

Both materials are suitable for a wide range of craft, stamping and identification projects, but they create a different finished appearance.

Copper blanks have a warm natural copper colour and are particularly suited to traditional-looking metalwork, jewellery, personalised pieces and decorative projects.

Aluminium blanks have a bright silver appearance and are lightweight and versatile, making them useful for tags, keyrings, jewellery and personalised projects.

Choosing the Right Blank

Think about how much information or decoration needs to fit onto the finished piece. Smaller blanks are useful for jewellery and small tags, while larger blanks give you more room for stamped names, telephone numbers and decorative designs.

For dog or animal identification tags, choose a blank large enough to hold the information you need while still being an appropriate size and weight for the animal.

If you need an attachment point, choose one of the pre-drilled pendant blanks. These already have a small hole ready for your own split ring or suitable fitting.

These blanks are not embossing foil.

The blanks are approximately 0.9mm thick and are too thick for traditional metal embossing and tooling techniques. For embossing, choose thinner copper or aluminium sheet or foil designed for that purpose.

Metal Blank FAQs

What is the difference between a plain blank and a pendant blank?

Are the blanks supplied undecorated?

Yes. They are supplied as plain metal shapes ready for stamping, engraving, painting or decorating.

Are all shapes available in both copper and aluminium?

No. The available shapes and sizes differ between the two metals. The guide above shows the available options in each material.

How thick are the blanks?

Many of the copper and aluminium blanks in the range are approximately 0.9mm thick. Check the individual product page for the specification of the exact blank you are purchasing.
